Liberia Council of Churches launched its Elections Situation Room

The Liberia Council of Churches on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 launched its Election Situation Room at the secretariat of the LCC in Sinkor. The launching ceremony was attended by the leadership of the LCC including heads of Churches, Civil Society Organizations, the Interreligious Council of Liberia and a host of others.

The LCC Election Situation Room according to the General Secretary of the council will serve as an information hub which for the first time will receive digital data from monitors through a customized mobile application to a centralized server managed and operated by the LCC data office clerks.

A total of 20 persons have been trained and deployed across Liberia to serve as Campaign Monitors pending training for 300 Election Day Observers that will include heads of churches  for the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Election.

The General Secretary of the LCC noted that the usage of the application for Campaign and Election Day monitoring will curtail the delay in report gathering as the current system introduced will help propel the LCC to be more proactive to speak on the issues as they evolve from the field.

The president of the LCC, Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr., will periodically update the public with information obtained from the LCC Situation Room.

Rev. Christoppher Wleh Toe, I, General Secretary, LCC
