Liberia Council of Churches Commences its 34th Annual General Assembly

The LCC 2023 Annual General Assembly commences on Friday, June 29, 2023 at the Georgia Pattern United Methodist Church in Monrovia. The 2023 edition of the LCC General Assembly reflects on the Theme: Promoting National Peace and Unity: An Imperative for Sustainable for Sustainable Growth and Development with Scriptural Text: Psalms 133:1, John 17:21.

The opening ceremony of the LCC GA pay host to several high profile clergymen, officials of Government, politicians and Civil Society personalities.

The LCC honors and recognizes the works of its former President and retired Bishop of the United Methodist Church Bishop Arthur F. Kulah as it launched the “Bishop Arthur F. Kulah Justice, Peace, and Reconciliation Lecture Series, including its first President, Bishop George D. Browne; the “Bishop George D. Brown Hall of Fame.”

Bishop Kulah was a major actor who along with others brought peace and tranquility to Liberia during its dark past of Civil War. He is well known for his staunch advocacy and truth to power.

Bishop George D. Browne is well remembered for his pivotal role play in the Christian Community and Liberia.
